IT Worker Indicted In Hacking Scheme At Health Firm

News.com has a story up about a man who wrote code to erase data at the health firm he worked at. This reinforces the notion that proper backups and security are absolutely necessary. It is reassuring to read that another administrator found the code. This just drills home the point that too much power in one persons hands can be dangerous. I think small businesses that just have a single IT professional on staff really have to be careful. Not many other positions offer a new employee such wide ranging access to important and confidential company information.
